Yes, I know that a few participants are irritating. But some of us found the forum useful, and it was not that difficult to ignore the off-topic stuff. It is worth reinstating for the gems (pun intended) which outweigh the dross every time (in quality if not in quantity).

Is there a reason why this section is still unlocked? Is it an invitation to comment on what's happened?

Well so much for product support then !!???
maybe if there was more notice about shutting forum , some thing could have been done to start a users forum away from netgem ! It was only VIA bush users group , I found this part of forum was still active.

Yes - I have found this a very useful and informative forum, perhaps in need of a few more moderators to keep threads on-topic (being a mod and Admin on another couple of boards, I would happily take up a request for assistance, and I'm sure others would be only too willing to help also).

A few notable absentees from this thread... have certain people had their posting ability disabled? I'm assuming from the way this 'closure' is being handled that the forum is undergoing some kind of spring cleaning and will return at some point.

Product support is still available via the normal phone/email channels, maybe the forum is still available for Netgem to post info as well icon_smile.gif

I think some of you seem to have missed the real reason for this forum's closure which has nothing to do with the behaviour of the forum's members and their respect and/or lack of it for some Netgem personnel.

If you visit the website www.iplayer.co.uk it produces the message Service Unavailable. However BT is still selling the IPlayer+ here:-

www.shop.bt.com/icat/tvfreeview&source=freeview_btcomasksearch?com.bea.event.type=linkclick&oLName=link.searchresults&oLDesc=KB_522

What does this tell us?

Is the IPlayer+ to become a solely BT OEM product marketed only by BT and supported only by BT or quite what exactly?

Stephan can you tell us who instructed you to close the forum and why?

well , it would be nice i suppose to know why forum closed , if only to satisfy curiosity !
In previous , what I was meaning was , product support from other users ! , as I got more support , and usful info , from other users than netgem , They never returned phone calls , etc , In case forum closes altogether I posted a thank you on another thread to the users that helped me so much with this product .
